Camera is a photography app designed by HMD Global specifically for users with Nokia devices. At face value, Camera looks like any other basic camera app that comes pre-installed on any smartphone these days, but this app is unique in that it has loads of handy features and neat settings that can be tweaked in order to create jaw-dropping photography.

Not Your Everyday Camera App

Camera comes packed with lots of sensible features that you'd simply expect from a camera app in present day technology. The best part is you don't need any additional software to improve the photos you take with Camera; the tools to enhance your photos are already included in the app itself. For instance, try switching from Standard mode to Panorama with a single tap to capture breathtaking scenes.

Photography lovers will also appreciate Camera's bokeh feature. Named "Live Bokeh," this feature is capable of capturing the bokeh effect in real time as photos are snapped. This means there's no longer any need to later edit the bokeh effect into your photos using third party apps.

Increase Your Productivity

There are plenty of features included with Camera that make it ideal for those wanting to improve their productivity. One of them is called "Dual Sight," and it allows you to capture content from both your forward-facing and rear cameras at the same time. Dual Sight can be used for both videos and photos, but it seems more useful for videos as the dual perspectives are extremely useful with video calls and live-streaming.

Camera can also be seamlessly integrated with Motion Stills and Google Lens. Using Motion Stills, you can turn any captured video into a GIF or a looped video, and Google Lens enables you to use Camera to research your surroundings using your phone's camera technology.

Getting Started

In order to use Camera, you will need a compatible Nokia device that is running on at least Android 8.0 or better. Live Bokeh and Pro Mode can only be accessed if your device is equipped, respectively, with dual cameras and ZEISS Optics. Also, Dual Sight can only be used if you are using a Nokia 5.1 Plus or a more recent model.

Powerful Camera App with Powerful Requirements

While a lot of what Camera can do is certainly impressive, there's no denying many users will find it somewhat tricky to meet its technical requirements. If you have a recent Nokia device equipped with all the bells and whistles, the odds are very good this camera app will work flawlessly with your device. If you use an older device, you might be better off looking elsewhere for a reliable camera app.
